EDU 520 Strayer Wk 3 No Child Left Behind Act Passed by Congress in US Discussion Discussion 1
When the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was passed, the legislation guaranteed that it would not “mandate a State or any subdivision thereof to spend any funds or incur any costs not paid for under this Act.” A requirement of NCLB has been that the percentage of students of schools and districts scoring a proficient level on state standardized assessments will increase each year. Most Title I schools will face sanctions if all students are not scoring at the proficient range for Mathematics and English Language Arts.
