The Consent of The Governed Reflection Context:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” (excerpted from the Declaration of Independence).

As I have mentioned throughout the semester, politics has changed since the 2016 election; things are different now.
