I’m studying and need help with a English question to help me learn.

The first video talks about how when you ask questions it increases your motivation. I think this can work because you ask questions so you can further your understanding of the concept. When you actually understand the concept then you like what that concept is about because you understand it. Then you are motivated to learn more stuff too. Another topic I liked in the video is making connections one. If you make a connection between the text and something you are familiar with then it is easier to remember the text. I also liked it when she said do not find the exact question to ask. If you do not understand something than ask the question. Even if the question is not a good question then ask it anyways. Another thing that I like was when she said take notes in the book if you are confused. This works for me because I can easily know where my question is in the text, if I mark it down.
It is important to try to read difficult text. She was talking about how you need to try to read it because it will help you in the field that you are trying to study. I also like it when she said that the goal of reading a difficult text is trying to understand what the author is trying to say. I like it because there is a lot of hard text to read out there and once you get through the hard part of the text than it might get easier from there on. She also mentions annotating. Annotating is so helpful when you read the text. If you do not remember what you read, then you can go back to your notes and remember what you read. She also mentions to look up words when you do not know what they are. This is helpful because that word might be a key word in the text so it might be necessary to know what that word means.

In the video I watched, I learned the importance of asking questions. Asking questions works best for many different reasons. The reason that influenced me and related to me most was it checks your understanding. I always feel like if I don’t understand something I should just skip over it because I might look stupid asking a “dumb” question, when everyone else might actually already know the answer. With that being said, that wouldn’t help my understanding at all. There is no such thing as a stupid question. I learned that asking question is always best to help me understand what I’m ready because if I ask about it, then someone can explain it to me, to help me further understand the text. I also learned to preview the text before you read and ask questions before your read so that you can answer your own questions as you read, so that you better understand your reading. This caught my eye because I usually just jump right into the text and end up so confused because I never know what my reading is actually getting to. Which would make me not understand what I’m reading, but if I review the text before I read, I will get a better understanding of what is coming later in the text.
In the second video I watched, I learned about dealing with difficult text. In this video, I learned that difficult text are essential and will never go away. With that being said, I need to find a way to deal with them and be able to better understand them. For me to be able to understand difficult text, I learned that I need to use the strategy to read, annotate, learn words, and summarize. This will then help me better understand what the author is trying to say in the text. In this class, if we have questions on our reading, who would be the best person to ask? Should I ask a classmate, or the instructor? Also, what is the best way to reach someone to ask a question about the text?
