After seeing what we will be covering in this week’s class I was excited because we’ve only learned so far how people view Africa and culture. Now we are seeing Africa in a positive view even though there will always be negative views of Africa. When I very first opened the powerpoint for the week it starts by saying Africa is not a part of history when in reality it is. Africa has a government just like every other country. They have a direct democracy according to Victor Uchendu. In the powerpoint it says that everything starts rising when they start trading and the spread Islam, and environment & vegetation but also iron. Another thing I found interesting about Africa is all the different kingdoms within the continent and leaders they had. It seems as if in the early days of Africa they had dictatorships. In the reading for the week states that Africa’s polities are often responded unconventionally but very strategically to the interaction of the sovereign state system.
