I’m trying to study for my Psychology course and I need some help to understand this question.

The Clifton Strengths assessment provided actual results on my awareness and understanding of natural talents. The examination disclosed several strengths and weaknesses acquired over time that develop strategies to meet daily demands. The results revealed my ability to learn the exciting subject matter more than the content or the outcome. The learning process increases through confidence in mastered skills and engaging in adult learning experiences. Another dominant theme has core values that highlight a belief theme around family, spiritual values, and responsibility, and high ethics.

The results provided weaknesses within the assessment. However, I view the results as a work-in-progress, not a weakness. For example, the Strategic theme revealed my ability to over-analyze information. “You cull and make selections until you arrive at the chosen path.” However, mindful patterns allow for an alternative scenario. For example, forensic psychology requires examining multiple methods. Using the mindful theme will enable ways to explore different approaches to solutions.

The EIQ16-R Emotional Intelligence Questionaire provided an overview of strengths in the area of competence and areas that require additional skill development. The assessment revealed an average overall score. I have a high level of emotional intelligence and mindfulness competencies. However, I need to improve on developing the ability to gauge the feelings and emotions of people around me. Improving acknowledging the importance of emotions and providing additional opportunities to express those emotions can help develop

Preparation As OD Consultant

Organizational Development or OD is a system-wide application and transfer of behavioral science knowledge (Nguyen, 2016). Both assessments will help prepare for a career as an OD consultant by learning new subject matter and the ability to tap into feelings and emotions to help generate ideas and solve problems. The process of improving areas of concern is admitting there are areas to improve. Establishing realistic goals that lead to a managed solution will deliver results.

Important Insights from Assessments

Several insights gained from these assessments highlighted essential skills and competences for OD consultants. For example, confidence in decision making allows an OD consultant to develop a blueprint that is organized and disciplined. Each situation is different, and using past experiences to make wise decisions will lead to more confidence in your choices. Also, invite people to express their feelings about the pros and cons of different solutions that improve an OD consultant’s ability to think through problems without taking it personally and reach decisions.
