The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to stop and alleviate human suffering within the face of emergencies by mobilizing the ability of volunteers and also the generosity of donors. Red Cross is led by volunteers and financially supported by generous residents, businesses and foundations, some of the programs and services they can provide are as follows: Disaster Relief and Community Disaster Education, Health & Safety Services, Supports military personnel, veterans and their families, Community Services, Blood Services, Volunteerism and to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being.

Path-goal theory, originally developed by Evans (1970), this theory designed the leaders job to assist followers in achieving their goals and to provide the mandatory direction and as a motivation to induce subordinates to accomplish goals. Path-Goal theory assumes that leaders are flexible which they’ll change their style, as the environment may require.

Partnering with Red Cross will give an opportunity to the underserved youth within the community. Red Cross plays a strong role within the greater Red Cross community — though, as humanitarians, there are often many other roles including the roles of being a student, a friend, a friend, and more.

A real-world experience I can share is that our organization is now working to volunteer with the youth in our community by utilizing complex rehabilitation principles to conduct comprehensive substance abuse evaluations of eligible youth for consultation. Red Cross recently referred to a single mother who has her two children smoking marijuana at their house against their mothers’ will and one of her son overdose from opioids. Red Cross referred them to us because we are part of their volunteer network. We are still providing services as part of our giving services to our community to those who are underserved. Our strength lies in our volunteer network, our community-based expertise, and our independence and neutrality. My profession and the Red Cross organization we have the same vision to enable healthy and safe communities.
