REMEMBER: You are responding to the production you experience…not just the script. Themes are great to talk about BUT you should focus on how themes are communicated through the work done by the artists involved in THIS PRODUCTION. Actors, designers(set, lights, costume, sound), director…..
This paper is not about “I liked it” or “I didn’t like it.” It IS about how we can examine Art: LOOK( what elements of the production stood out to you?), SEE (Describe what you experienced), THINK (why was this choice made? What does it tell the audience?) and CONNECT (what does it remind you of in your own cultural experience?) . Write with authority. You know what your experience was– write honestly and without hesitation.
