The paper will need to follow traditional essay format. The purpose of writing is:
1. To organize thinking. Writing a coherent essay requires the writer to organize an argument that carries the reader through an idea from beginning to end.
2. To persuade. Every essay must be written from a point of view. The writer uses language to convince the reader of the value of that point of view.

If you choose a performance form that does not produce a script, consider how the work interacts with more traditional theater practice, or with the culture at large. Examine the historical record to immerse yourself in the thought and archives that relate to your topic.
