The impact of technology on organizational culture? (ch. 12)
The UNC brand? (ch. 10)
The work of being a student at UNC? (ch. 2) OR
Choose your own chapter or question/topic and clear it with me

Your analysis must include the following:

A restatement of which question you’re answering (at the top of the page)
A thesis statement that answers that question and makes a critical claim
Quotes from three different stories from classmates, provided as evidence for your claim
Two concepts from the course (see textbook, lectures, or other readings) that help you make sense of your question and its answer.

The grading rubric for this portion of the exam should look fairly familiar:

Assignment Criteria (thesis statement, used course material accurately, showed understanding of chosen course material etc.): 60%
Unique Analytical Insight (claims are insightful and critical, using course ideas to look past the obvious toward the hidden) 30%
Clean Copy (turned in on time, with document titled “lastname_FinalExam”, readable and neat grammatically etc.) 10%

The goal of this final exam is to use course content to help make sense of your and your classmates’ experience as UNC students this semester. Official emails tell us that this experience is “unprecedented” and “extraordinary.” In part 1, this exam asks you to provide data in the form of personal reflection that shows what this “extraordinary” experience is like from the perspective of students. In part 2, this exam asks you to offer some kind of informed answer to the “so what” question/why does this matter? What are the effects of this extraordinary time on UNC as an organization? and on you as members of this organization?

This exam is not meant to be comprehensive in any way. Feel no pressure to provide an analysis of everything or to prove how much you have learned this semester. Instead, use this final exam as a way to reflect on this unprecedented experience and make some sense of it for yourself. I am hoping to see honest reflection and serious grappling both with your/others’ experiences and with a couple course concepts of your choosing. I am highly affirming of you choosing your own question to answer rather than the options I offered; please clear that question with me before your write your final exam!
