Watch a dramatization of the passion of Christ. There are many, often embedded in larger dramatizations of the Gospel or the whole Bible. Note the passion begins around the time of Jesus arrest and ends with his death or burial. You can find some movies on various streaming services you may subscribe to. There are some on YouTube, such as:
Jesus (1979 full movie)
The Gospel of John (2003)
Mel Gibsons (in)famous Passion of the Christ is sometimes on YouTube:
There was a miniseries The Bible with an episode The Passion

Finally, analyze/critique the dramatization based on Criteria for Evaluating Dramatizations of the Passion. How does it do well or poorly at avoiding misrepresentations of Jews and Jesus death?
(At least 300 words)
Matthew 26:47-27:61
Mark 14:43-15:47
Luke 22:47-23:56
John 1819
How does the biblical story compare to the bishops document Criteria for the Evaluation of Dramatizations of the Passion? Does the biblical text focus on the central message as identified by the document (Christ in his boundless love freely underwent his passion and death because of the sins of all, so that all might attain salvation), or does it present the Jews as responsible for the death of Jesus (or some of both)?
(At least 150 words)
Ban the Bible!
In ancient Greece, Plato argues for media censorship in his criticism on Homer’s epics. Locate biblical passages (in either Testament) that could be used to critique the Bible as a text that should be banned for one of the few reasons Plato articualtes. You don;t have to read Plato’s Republic, but the relevant passages are indicated.
The passages you locate may be specific and easily quotable statements (Plato has examples of these in his critique of Homer), or longer episodes that may be summarized or referred to (Plato does this too), or general features of the text that may be deemed objectionable.
FIRST: Locate a passage in which God is said to be the cause of some harm or injury (cf. Republic, 379a-380c). Ideally, you want an example in which the harm caused by God can not easily be justified (as punishment of sinners, for instance) by a decent and honest person. Briefly indicate the passage and state how it violates the principles stated by Socrates. (About 50 words)
SECOND: Locate a passage that indicates that God deceives or changes. Note that in ancient discourse, change meant any kind of change or motion, including emotion. Briefly indicate the passage and state how it violates the principles stated by Socrates. (About 50 words)
THIRD: Locate a passage in which a human hero in the Bible behaves in ways unworthy of their exemplary status. For example, an otherwise heroic figure engaged in deception, injuring others without cause, or generally behaving in immoderate or disgraceful ways (ways you would not want your children to behave). Note that manifestly bad people doing bad things does not count. Briefly indicate the passage and state how it violates the principles stated by Socrates. (About 50 words)
FOURTH: Select one of the above passages and strive to discover an interpretation of it that makes it more edifying (i.e., that “builds up the love of God and neighbor” as Augustine puts it). You can get creative. If you can think of no way to interpret it in an edifying way, then write about that (at least 100 words).
You can write these up as one entry or as four separate entries (same points either way) TRS 306 Online Week 2
