Testing Methods:
There will be one (1) exam during the semester. The exam will test the
student's full understanding of the topics in the assigned materials.
Book Reports: A book report on the following two books (one report
for each book) is required:
3. HealthSouth: The Wagon to Disaster by Aaron Beam
(ISBN 978-0-9796284-8-1)
4. Extraordinary Circumstances by Cynthia Cooper
(ISBN 978-0-470-12429-1).
Each book report should be over 4 pages (not including title page), 12
pt. font, 1-inch margins and double spaced. The report should include a
Section to provide a good summary of the book particularly relating to
the accounting issues in question and, finally, a Section pertaining to
your personal perceptions about the book pertaining to the accounting
issues... who's to blame, why it happened, your opinion etc. and did you
like the book?? Is it a good read, boring? would you recommend it? Did
you learn from the book if so what?? Those types of items.
Case Study:
The case study will be a group project. The groups will be assigned
by the instructor. The specific case will be provided by the
instructor and posted on the course Canvas page. Any additional
instructions will be provided in the case material.
