Throughout the reading(according to the Reading: Clark et.al 68-81,Attached) I felt a sense of dissatisfaction and urgency. The key idea I took away was that many people have a tendency to feel they are in “good shape” heading into retirement, only to realize that they are not actually in this state of wealth. The text shows a data visualizations, all pointing to retirement income being much smaller than pre-retirement, as well as a strong dissatisfaction among the elderly population. My question: if we extend the retirement age to say, 70 years, will this help alleviate the issue of dissatisfaction and lack of funds at the older ages? Additionally, do you think living in the United States is advantageous or disadvantageous for an elderly person? We see a lot of immigrants as of late, which brings me to that question.
