CMCE 1221 Construction Management I
Term Project: DOB Information & Site Visit Reports
Your project centers on a current, active construction project in New York City. You will
investigate the project on the DOB’s website and in person. DO NOT select a project for which
there is no DOB filing, you cannot determine the address, cannot visit in person, etc.
You will select the project and post its address to the Discussion Forum on Blackboard. No
duplicate projects will be allowed, so please sign up ASAP. First confirmed posting will claim
any given project.
Term Project Report Submission & Format (20 points)
Make sure your project is neat and professional, including the following guidelines:
1.
2.
•
•
•
•
•
•
3.
•
•
4.
Submission. Reports must be submitted via Blackboard as a single PDF file.
Report style. Write clearly and formally.
Use single spaced text for reports.
Use the report sections I give (see Project Content). Label each section with a clear
heading and use a page break for each section.
Use sub-sections with headings, not large paragraphs.
Use lists and bullet points to answer listing questions. Introduce each list with a brief
sentence describing what it is.
Use the Footer to identify yourself, class number, and project address.
Spell check.
Information sources. Caption all photos.
Photos taken on site must have a time/date stamp.
Photos from other sources must have a source listed. DO NOT list Google as a source
– use the destination source. Do not use urls as sources – use org info.
Quotes. Write in your own words. If you are quoting something, use quotation marks
and refer to your source. (i.e. According to ENR, X project began on April 2018 with
“major fanfare and road closures around downtown Brooklyn.”)
