You have identified several issues from Learning to Labour as well as several issues with educational in/equality in Canada. To strengthen your argument, I would like to see more direct engagement with course sources and more specific examples about the Canadian context. For example, you might draw from Weis and the Week 7 lecture to explain how de-industrialization since the 1970s has reduced employment for the kinds of jobs that the lads were looking forward to in Learning to Labour. You might bring in Rizvi to support your argument about racialization. Overall, a good attempt but I suggest you find specific examples from outside sources to support your claims.
I guess my prof is more like the paper to be more interactive. and relate more to our course materials. so please read more readings and try to draw concepts from course readings Final Research Paper
The paper clearly identifies and insightfully analyzes important issues related to labour, class
and education and connects these to course themes. The paper does this by developing a clear
and original argument supported with research evidence, which demonstrates an
understanding of and engagement with course concepts.
At least 4 well-selected academic sources, in addition to course materials, help to form the
basis of the argument. Web-based sources, including media coverage, may also be used if the
student is conducting a media analysis. Other credible sources, such as statistical information
from Stats Can, may be used to supplement the argument. Sources are properly cited in-text
and in the reference list.
Writing , Style & Clarity
The thesis is stated clearly, and the main points previewed in the introduction. Ideas are well
organized and supported by persuasive reasoning and well chosen examples. The paper shows
substantial depth, fullness, and complexity of thought. Writing is clear and easy to follow.
