Poverty is one of the various social issues affecting a large number of Americans. People living in poverty lack
enough income and other material items to help in meeting their needs 1.
Inability to feed themselves is an indicator of poverty among the Americans. Other challenges people living in
poverty experience lack of a shelter, and inability to purchase clothes to match the weather. Inconsistences in
inability to feed oneself is also an indicator of poverty.
