A company’s income statement and balance sheet for the current year are given.

a. Construct the pro forma statements using the forecast bases given. (Use named ranges.)

(Use the dynamic naming technique to name “CurrentYear”; other named ranges have been created for you.)

b. Use Goal Seek to find the amount of the additional fund needed (“AFN”) that balances the pro forma balance sheet

Task 2:

This is a worksheet used by a restaurant to schedule its servers for a 12-hour day. There are six shifts in a day; each shift lasts for between 3.5 hours and 4.5 hours, depending on the shift. The minimum number of workers needed are given in row 13.

1. Use Solver to find the number of employees for each shift such that the total number of hours is minimized while each shift has sufficient workers. (Save this scenario as Option 1.)

2. Add an additional constraint such that the first shift has no more than 2 workers. (Save this scenario as Option 2.)

3. Create a scenario summary that shows the Total Hours as well as the number of Employees Scheduled.
