Colorado State University Technology and Job Loss Discussion This article looks at how technological advancement can impact employment (or workers). How can AI be a threat to employment? In what ways it may actually be beneficial for workers? For firms? For the economy? Will robotics be a continuous problem for employment? What might be some of the costs of unemployment, to the unemployed worker and to the society as a whole, besides the worker’s loss of income?You can thing along the lines as labor substitution in which technology replaces manual work. You can also think of it as an opportunity cost, and benefits of technology. Will technology affect prices of goods and services (i.e. inflation)? GDP? Environmental degradation? You can include examples as you think through these issues.
