Annotated Bibliography Assignment (Due Sunday April 28th):
Prepare an annotated bibliography that is APA style and format compliant, listing at least five (5)
sources that you have located and evaluated for your Final Research Paper assignment. These
reference sources cannot include the textbooks, a dictionary, or Wikipedia.
Preparing an annotated bibliography encourages you to think critically about the content of the
works you are using, their place within a field of study, and their relation to your own research
and ideas. It proves you have read and understand your sources and establishes your sources
as valid references for the course research paper assignment.
An annotated bibliography is a bibliography that includes a summary of the research that you
have done. It is an alphabetical list of research sources with the addition of a brief summary or
annotation for each source. The annotation for each reference source usually contains a brief
summary of content and a short analysis or evaluation of that source. In order to write a
successful annotation, each summary must be fairly concise (100-250 words) (do not copy the
abstract). The annotation should display the source’s central idea(s) and give the reader a
general impression of what the source is about. The annotation should also contain a statement
regarding the applicability of the source material to the researcher’s (your) topic of interest.
Submit your Annotated Bibliography through Moodle as MS Word document. File naming
format will be: “1st Initial-Last Name-MGT6505.E1-Annotated-Bibliography-Date”.

PART 2: FINAL RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT
Final Research Paper Assignment (Due may 1st 2020):
Description of Final Research Paper Assignment
Write a 12-15 page APA compliant research paper (approximately 3,250 words – excluding
title, abstract, and reference bibliography). This paper should be a review and discussion of
the current literature covering your topic. Your paper should contain a discussion of the
published information as it relates to your particular subject area. It should be a critical
evaluation of sources relating to your subject that highlight the relationships between the
various writings and how they support (or contradict) your own knowledge and
understanding of the topic. This review and discussion is NOT a summary or regurgitation of
a group of unrelated articles. A good review and discussion will look at the research that has
been done and synthesize or pull together those elements that are similar or most pertinent
to the topic you have chosen. I am looking for critical, analytical thinking in this paper.
Your review and discussion should contain three basic parts:
• An introduction, giving the reader a quick idea of your topic, your thesis or problem
statement, and the central theme or organizational pattern you will follow.
• The body, which contains your discussion and synthesis of source material.
• A conclusion and recommendations, in which you discuss what you have learned from your
research, what questions it raised for you, how you plan to proceed, or what seems to be
missing from the research.
