project must consist of 5 sections:
a. Introduction: in this section you clearly motivate your study. State the country’s past
economic history briefly and current economic situation. This part is “descriptive”.
Some key data you might find useful to analyze:
– Main industries: Strengths and weaknesses
– Balance of payments: external sector situation

e. References: cite all your sources!
Note: the project cannot be more than 20 pages long. Font size should be between 10 and 12,

Guidelines for the final project’s presentation
The presentation will be during the last two days of classes prior to the final exam (April 22 and
April 29).

Prepare a fifteen (15) minutes power point presentation.
One presenter from each group will be randomly selected to present. Therefore,
everybody should be prepared.
If a member from the group fails to attend class without justification he/she will have
zero points in the presentation (not the whole group).
During the presentation I will ask question to anybody of the group regarding the
presentation (especially non presenters!).
The final grade will depend on the overall group performance.
Presentation format:
a. Introduction: no more than 2 slides
b. Analysis: present the main findings. Not necessarily everything. Keep in mind YOU
WILL NOT HAVE MORE THAN 15 MINUTES. Time management is part of the
presentation’s grade.
c. Conclusion: one slide.
Advice 1: for a 15 minutes presentation do not prepare more than 6 slides.
Advice 2: practice your presentation with the rest of the group, nothing helps more than
practicing.
Written Essay: THE WRITTEN PART OF THE FINAL PROJECT IS DUE ON APRIL 29TH AT 11:59 PM.
Send it to: horenstein@bus.miami.edu
Presentations: I will randomly assign spots to the groups presenting during the classes of April
22nd and April 29th. For students in a very different time zone who cannot attend classes I can
assigned a special time to meet. All students are expected to be present in their classmates
presentations unless there is a justified reason for missing the class.
Final grade: 15 points for the written part and 10 points for the presentation. 25 points total.
