Part 1: Assessment Considerations Chart
For Part 1 of the assignment, you will complete a chart examining specific components of communication that are typically assessed when evaluating the communication skills of a child with autism spectrum disorder. You will define each of these components of communication, and discuss standardized and non-standardized assessment tools that can be utilized when evaluating these specific components.
A communication assessment for a child with ASD often includes looking at:

You will then respond to the following for each communication component listed above:
Define the component and provide an example of why it is important to examine this component of communication.
Provide at least two examples of standardized assessments. Include what needs to be considered when choosing a standardized assessment measure and identify the key professionals that would be involved in the assessment process.
Provide at least two examples of non-standardized assessments of the component. Include what needs to be considered when choosing a non-standardized assessment measure and identify the key professionals that would be involved in the assessment process.
Part 2: Assessment Essay
For Part 2 of the assignment, you will write a 12-page informative essay where you address each of the following:
