This investigation proposes an investigation model and tests the framework using structural equation
modeling. For this purpose, 263 valid questionnaires were collected from a research sample comprised
of co-operants of the biggest dairy union of co-operatives in Iberia.
This investigation is based on a sample of members of one union of co-operatives in the specific dairy
milk industry.
CR has a significant impact on co-operatives members’ loyalty and on co-operatives’ performance. The
model provides a wider comprehension of the CR concept and introduces both the drivers and
consequences.
A2) Supplier choice criteria and the security aware food purchasing manager
To explore the differences in preferred supplier choice criteria between food purchasing agents who
focus on supplier security and those that do not.
The model:
H1. Purchasing agents that place more importance on supplier security are less price sensitive than
agents who place less importance on supplier security.
H2. Purchasing agents that place more importance on supplier security place less importance on delivery
reliability than agents who place less importance on supplier security.
H3. Purchasing agents that place more importance on supplier security place more importance on
product quality than agents who place less importance on supplier security
H4. Firms that source internationally prefer secure suppliers significantly more than firms that only
source domestically.
Name: Said Abdoun
ID: TBM063
Choice-based conjoint analysis with hierarchical Bayes (HB) estimation and t-tests are used to assess and
compare the utility food purchasing managers derive from different supplier attributes.
This research was limited by its focus on the food industry and a relatively small sample size.
Findings – Purchasing managers that place a higher priority on security when choosing suppliers were
willing to pay suppliers a higher price and receive lower levels of delivery reliability in return for higher
security but placed less emphasis on suppliers’ product quality. Firms that source internationally do not
have a significantly greater preference for advanced supplier security. However, purchasing managers
that value supplier security were more likely to source internationally, potentially indicating that
security allows for global sourcing by mitigating the increased vulnerability inherent to sourcing abroad.
A3) Performance measurement in agri-food supply chains: a case study
Measurement of the performance of entire supply chains is an important issue because it allows for
“tracking and tracing” of efficacy and efficiency failures and leads to more informed decision making
with regard to chain design.
The model:

In this study we hypothesized that efficiency, flexibility, responsiveness and food quality are the key
performance components that form base for an agri-food supply chain performance measurement
system.
A conceptual model for integrated supply chain performance measurement is evaluated in a DutchGerman tomato supply chain by means of a case study approach.
This research evaluates a novel concept for measuring the performance of agri-food supply chains. This
concept is the first step in developing an integrated performance measurement system that contains
financial as well as non-financial indicators combined with the specific characteristics of agri-food supply
chains. Based on a case study in the tomato supply chain, this concept is found to have potential.
Findings – The proposed conceptual framework is found to be useful for measuring performance of the
tomato supply chain. From the case study it is concluded that four main categories of performance
measures (i.e. efficiency, flexibility, responsiveness, and food quality) are identified as key performance
components of the tomato supply chain performance measurement system.
A4) Exploring the relationship between ICT, SCM practices and organizational performance in agrifood supply chain
Purpose – This paper presents the concerns in agri-food supply chain. Further the research investigates
the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in agri-food supply chain and determines
the impact of supply chain management (SCM) practices on firm performance.
H1. ICT and information quality as a supply chain practice are positively related.
H2. ICT and information sharing as a supply chain practice are positively related.
H3. ICT and logistics integration as a supply chain practice are positively related.
H4. ICT and supplier relationship as a supply chain practice are positively related.
H5. Information quality as supply chain practice and organizational performance are positively related.
H6. Information sharing as supply chain practice and organizational performance are positively related.
H7. Logistics integration as supply chain practice and organizational performance are positively related.
H8. Supplier relationship as supply chain practice and organizational performance are positively related.
Design/methodology/approach – The theoretical framework was proposed for the study on the basis of
existing literature. Data for the study was collected with the help of structured questionnaire from 121
executives and officers of the public food distribution agency. Partial least square (PLS)–structured
equation modeling was employed to test the framework and hypotheses.
Findings – The results indicate that ICT and SCM practices (logistics integration and supplier
relationships) have a significant relationship. Furthermore, SCM practices (information sharing, supplier

A5) Power and relationship quality in supply chains the case of the Australian organic fruit and
vegetable industry
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to test the impact of power (coercive and non-coercive) on
supply chain (SC) relationship success. In particular, this paper aims to examine the moderating effect of
relationship quality (RQ) on the associations between power bases and relationship success. In turn, RQ
and relationship success can impact the operational performance of the suppliers.
Design/methodology/approach – A survey of 284 Australian suppliers (growers of organic fruits and
vegetables) was conducted to elucidate the associations among power, RQ, relationship success and
operational performance.
Findings – RQ was found to only moderate the positive relationship between non-coercive power and
relationship success. Moreover, RQ and relationship success were positively related to the suppliers’
operational performance. The findings confirm those of previous research in which coercive power is
negatively related to the supplier’s perception of relationship success while non-coercive power is
positively related to the supplier’s perception of relationship success. Relationship success was found to
mediate the relationships between the power bases and operational performance.
Name: Said Abdoun
ID: TBM063
The model:
H1. Coercive power is negatively associated with relationship success in the Australian organic fruit and
vegetable industry.
H2. Non-coercive power is positively associated with relationship success of firms in the Australian
organic fruit and vegetable industry.
H3. RQ is positively related to relationship success in the Australian organic fruit and vegetable industry.
H4. As RQ increases, the negative impact of coercive power on relationship success is weaker in the
Australian organic fruit and vegetable industry.
H5. As RQ increases, the positive impact of non-coercive power on relationship success is weaker in the
Australian organic fruit and vegetable industry.
H6. RQ is positively related to operational performance in the Australian organic fruit and vegetable
industry.
H7. Relationship success is positively related to operational performance of firms in the Australian
organic fruit and vegetable industry.
H8. Relationship success mediates the relationships between power bases and operational performance
of firms in the Australian organic fruit and vegetable industry.
A6) Green supply chain management and business performance the mediating roles of environmental
and operational performances
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of green supply chain management on
environmental performance (EP), operational performance (OP), and business performance in the
context of a developing country, Jordan. In addition, the mediating effects of environmental and OP on
the relationship between green supply chain management and business performance are investigated.
Name: Said Abdoun
ID: TBM063
Design/methodology/approach – The study is based on survey data collected from 215 manufacturing
firms from different industries in Jordan. Validity and reliability analyses were carried out using SPSS and
Amos. Direct and indirect effects were tested using structural equation modeling.
Findings – The results revealed that green supply chain management positively and significantly affects
both EP and OP. The results also demonstrated that the total effect of green supply chain management
on business performance is positive and significant. The direct effect of green supply chain management
on business performance proved to be negative, but insignificant. Thus, the total positive effect of green
supply chain management on business performance is indirect and fully goes through EP and OP.
The model:
H1. GSCM has a direct positive impact on BP.
H2. GSCM has a positive impact on EP.
H3. GSCM has a positive impact on OP.
H4. EP has a positive impact on BP.
H5. OP has a positive impact on BP.
H6. The impact of GSCM on business performance is mediated by EP.
H7. The impact of GSCM on business performance is mediated by OP.
A7) Exploring the link between green manufacturing, operational competitiveness, firm reputation
and sustainable performance dimensions: a mediated approach
Purpose – The aim of this study is to explore the link between green manufacturing practices,
operational competitiveness, firm reputation and sustainable performance dimensions as well as
advance a mediation approach.
Design/methodology/approach – The study resorted to structured questionnaire to collect data from
158 manufacturing firms from different industries, and partial least square–structural equation
modelling is used to test all hypothesized relationships.
Findings – The results indicate that green manufacturing has a positive significant impact on social,
economic and environmental performance. However, firm reputation and operational competitiveness
were found not to significantly influence economic performance. The mediation analysis also showed
that operational competitiveness, firm reputation and environmental performance play no mediation

role between green manufacturing and economic performance. Furthermore, social performance is
found to mediate the relationship between green manufacturing and economic performance.
The model:
H1. GMP has a positive impact on OC
H2. GMP has a positive impact on EP
H3. OC has a significant positive impact on EP
H4. OC mediates the relationship between GMP and EP
H5. GMP has a positive impact on SP
H6. OC has a positive impact on SP
H7. OC mediates the relationship between GMP and SP
H8. GMP has a positive impact on EnP
A8) An empirical examination of the relationship between business strategy and socially responsible
supply chain management
Purpose – This paper aims to explore the effect of business strategy on socially responsible supply chain
management (SR-SCM).
Design/methodology/approach – This study draws on data from 178 UK-based companies, and 340
buyer-supplier relationships. A novel data collection approach is used, which minimizes social
desirability and common methods bias, to capture socially responsible supply chain management. The
data are analysed through a set of OLS regressions.
Findings – Business strategies significantly influence socially responsible supply chain management. Lowcost producers largely neglect their social responsibilities in the supply chain. In contrast, firms pursuing
Name: Said Abdoun
ID: TBM063
differentiation strategies are considerably more engaged with these issues, partly because they have
better supply chain processes.
The model:
H1. A low-cost strategy will be negatively related with SR-SCM.
H2. A differentiation strategy will be positively related with SR-SCM.
H3. A niche strategy will be negatively related with SR-SCM.
H4. The level of supply chain sophistication is positively related with SR-SCM.
H5. The relationship between business strategy and SR-SCM is mediated by the relationship between
business strategy and SUP SOPH.
A9) Supply chain quality management and firm performance in China’s food industry—the moderating
role of social co-regulation
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships between supply chain quality
management (SCQM) and firm performance (including quality safety performance and sales
performance) leveraging social co-regulation as a moderator.
Design/methodology/approach – Using survey data collected from 203 food manufacturers in China, a
series of hierarchical linear modeling analyses were conducted to test hypotheses on the relationships
between SCQM and firm performance.
Findings – The findings are threefold. First, all three dimensions of food SCQM practices, i.e., supplier
quality management, internal quality management, and customer quality management, have significant
positive effects on an enterprise’s quality safety performance and sales performance. Second, SCQM
practices can also increase sales performance indirectly through quality safety performance as a
mediator. Third, while social coregulation has no significant effect on the relationship between supplier
quality management and quality safety performance, it has a significant moderating effect on the
relationship between internal quality management and quality safety performance, customer quality
management and quality safety performance
Name: Said Abdoun
ID: TBM063
The model:
H1. Supplier quality management is positively related to quality safety performance.
H2. Internal quality management is positively related to quality safety performance.
H3. Customer quality management is positively related to quality safety performance.
H4. Social co-regulation moderates the relationship between supplier quality management and food
quality safety performance.
H5. Social co-regulation moderates the relationship between internal quality management and food
quality safety performance.
H6. Social co-regulation moderates the relationship between customer quality management and food
quality safety performance.
H7. Supplier quality management is positively related to the food enterprise’s sales performance.

A10) Structural model of perishable food supply chain quality (PFSCQ) to improve sustainable
organizational performance.
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of perishable food supply chain quality
(PFSCQ) and to suggest a structural model that counts the influence of PFSCQ practices on
organizational sustainable performance.
Design/methodology/approach – On the basis of comprehensive literature review, PFSCQ highly
significant practices were examined and designated. These practices were classified into four
dimensions: upstream quality (supplier quality), downstream quality (customer focus), internal quality
(process and logistics quality) and support practices (top management leadership and commitment to
quality, quality of human resource, quality of information and supply chain integration). The
measurement instrument of organizational sustainable performance was also build on, containing three
aspects: economic, environmental and social performance.
Findings – An inventive conceptual model that specifies a comprehensive image cover up core
dimensions of PFSCQ and various aspects of organizational sustainable performance was suggested. This
conceptual model can be used as “a directive” for theory developing and measurement instrument
development of PFSCQ practices and organizational sustainable performance. More prominently, on the
road to achieving additional insight, an extensive structural model that makes out direct and indirect
relationships between PFSCQ practices and organizational sustainable performance was also developed.
Practitioners can apply this model as “a path plan” for implementing PFSCQ practices to improve
organizational sustainable performance.
The model:
