Saddleback College Child Development Discussion Discussion Board Post Assignment Instructions: Seven SkillsYour Faber reading this week (Chapter 2) focuses on the Seven Skills That Invite Kids to Cooperate. This is important because as an adult you don’t want to fight with children, you want them TO WANT to cooperate…not always an easy task, but one worth the effort! So our discussion board assignment this week will focus on your understanding of these seven skills.In an exercise somewhat like what you did last week, create three scenarios with a child who is acting out, and how you would use the seven skills to handle the situation effectively. First, describe the scenario – what is happening, what is the child doing, etc., then go through each of the seven skills (please number them) describing in detail how you would utilize the skills in that particular situation. Be sure to be specific and include exactly what would be done and said. Think about how you would use these skills with a child/student you know, or even a scenario(s) that has occurred in the past, or may be likely to occur in the future – either at home (as a parent) or in the classroom (as a teacher). Create three different types of scenarios. Your posting should be at least three paragraphs long. Then reply two at least two classmates on at least two different days to qualify for the full amount of points possible.
