Artificial Intelligence in enhancing healthcare efficiency
Introduction
Artificial intelligence is the use of algorithms to acquire, process, and develop viable
predictions without human input. AI is the next big thing in healthcare. AI-assisted surgery,
medical research, big data, virtual assistants, diagnostic software, detection, and disease
preventive apps will change the healthcare industry. AI is set to increase accuracy, screening,
and interventions in healthcare and reduce the costs of interventions. AI is here to stay and help
medical practitioners to make better decisions in improving efficiency across the continuum of
care. The use of AI has not yet become the mainstream approach for most healthcare
organizations. Healthcare organizations are keen to learn the impact of AI in their operations.
Therefore through this research paper, I will identify the effectiveness of AI disruptions in the
industry to understand better its applicability in enhancing healthcare. Ethics will be a vital part
of AI application in HealthCare. Organizations must provide transparency in data acquisition and
use. Client data privacy must be respected to ensure successful use of AI.
Thesis statement: Artificial intelligence will positively transform healthcare access, delivery
and outcomes in the present and in future.

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the policy, legal and ethical challenges
healthcare organizations must deal with when using AI in enhancing access and quality
healthcare processes. Cohen et al. argue that AI will transform the industry due to the ability to
harness the power of big data to improve quality of care and lower the costs. This requires
healthcare organizations to create policy frameworks that enhance data privacy of the patient.
The use of AI is becoming an issue under the scrutiny of the external environment. Healthcare
organizations must embrace transparency, accountability, and ethical guidelines when dealing
with client data. In my view, AI will revolutionize the flow of information in the healthcare
industry by increasing the efficiency of data collection, processing, and information sharing to
facilitate better decision making. Therefore the development of a policy framework will ensure
low risk and higher returns for healthcare organizations and a more efficient healthcare delivery
system.

opportunities with artificial intelligence. Viewpoint. Retrieved from

This article takes a more holistic perspective of the healthcare industry and how the
various stakeholders stand to benefit. The author argues that AI will be a powerful force in
changing the efficiency in the industry. For physicians, there is the pressure to meet the needs of
the patients who are actively focused on getting quality healthcare at a more personalized level.

Healthcare service providers are also keen to employ tailor-made solutions for the consumer.
Insurance payers are interested in developing models that are optimized to reduce risk and at the
same time, save the lives of the patient. The article calls for a more collaborative approach in
using AI and sharing information across multiple platforms to ensure better service provision.
The article is related to the main topic in that it views the disruption of AI in the industry as an
integral part of the future and not just a current phenomenon. AI allows the use of big data to
profile and work towards the provision of more patient-centric services.

intelligence in healthcare: past, present and future. BMJ Journals, 2(4).

The purpose of this article is to investigate the current status of AI in healthcare. The
author argues that AI is almost mimicking cognitive functions of humans due to the rapid nature
of innovation in the area. The article reviews how AI and machine learning is being harnessed to
use data to develop medical solutions for patients. The use of structured and unstructured data is
specifically given significant attention by the author to bring to focus the increasing use of
structured and unstructured data being used. Indeed artificial intelligence is dependent on
learning trends and repetitions and then predicting the next move. This is a valuable trait that
reduces human error and helps in the fight against cancer, neurology, and heart disease. The
article also discusses the impact of the AI technology has on the service provider the ease of
collection and use of the data and the challenges the various models face during implementation.
The author argues that in future, healthcare systems will be more reliant on AI to process
unstructured data via natural learning process and deep learning for structured data.

This is a review by Murali and Sivakumaran that highlights how AI can be used by
service providers to deliver patient-centric care. Patient-centric care is the modern trend where
services are aligned to ensure holistic outcomes throughout the continuum of care. AI plays a
significant role in capturing, processing, and developing smart conclusions for better decision
making. The ability to learn individual behaviors are defining quality healthcare. Behaviors are
easy to predict if observed over some time. Noncommunicable diseases are linked to behavior
and thus with an understanding of the risky behavioral factors health service providers can be
able to develop behavior alteration models for patients. For patients with cancer, heart diseases,
and diabetes, AI will enable faster detection, diagnosis, and treatment with enhanced accuracy
and speed. The author delivers a valid argument that makes it easy to identify the applicability of
AI in developing interventions for modern lifestyle-related ailments.

This article focuses on the impact of AI in the radiology field. The author argues that big
data is driving AI, while AI will drive better image sharing. The article also proposes that the
imaging community is set to benefit from the use of a standard terminology that will enhance the
sharing of image data and patient information. However, the concerns that AI will displace
radiologists from the workplace are misinformed as radiologists will integrate AI data to ensure
better services for patients. Remote access and sharing will enable radiology professionals to
provide better diagnostic certainty, faster processes, better patient outcomes, and more work
satisfaction for the radiologist. Through AI, more sophisticated imaging data will be acquired,
developed and more conclusive outcomes obtained. The article is related to the topic under
discussion since it reviews one of the ways AI can be used to enhance the crucial medical
services and also enhance patient satisfaction.
