Summary
Employee wellness program refers to a form of health benefit offered in an organization
in addition to the usual health insurance. It is worth noting that healthcare costs are on the rise,
and therefore applying a wellness program in a company will play a tremendous role in lowering
the organizational healthcare costs. In the current world, companies use employee wellness
program as a competing tool because employees would love to go where such benefits are
available (Gebhardt, & Crump, 1990). Research shows that about seventy percent of health care
costs are linked to common sicknesses that are highly related to poor nutrition, lack of exercise,
high blood pressure, stress, overweight, as well as other preventable health issues. One of the
major expenses experienced by most businesses is health care costs, which do not reflect the
costs that arise from the loss of productivity or absenteeism. Embracing a wellness program is an
excellent approach that will play a tremendous role in addressing most, if not all, of these health
care challenges as well as related costs. This project is focused on presenting an employee
wellness program as the means to reduce healthcare costs.
Goals and Objectives
As far as this project is concerned, there are goals, the long-term outcome desired, and
there are also objectives representing the single achievable outcomes. Implementing this
wellness program requires an organization to be sensitive to the goals and objectives of the
program. One of the goals for an employee health program is decreasing absenteeism (Kerr, &
Vos, 1993). It is worth noting that healthy workers miss fewer days of work. Taking the initiative
to educate employees as well as providing incentives for healthy behavior can help a lot in
improving the situation. Another goal for the program is that it helps build organization morale.

Having employee awards as well as recognition focused on healthy behavior plays a tremendous
role in showing the employees that the business cares very much about their health. Sometimes it
becomes of great significance to award all those who show improved fitness based on the
monthly fitness tests. Doing all these activities helps a lot in improving morale at the workplace
hence increasing productivity.
Ensuring that everything moves as expected in a company requires careful consideration
of the set objectives of the employee wellness program. One of the objectives is that once every
year, the wellness program will conduct or in other words, host an 8-week team-based walking
challenge among the workers as the means to monitor how things have been going on. Again,
every worksite of the organization will appoint a wellness rep who will join the rest in the
wellness committee. The sole purpose of the wellness rep will be to participate in wellness
meetings and afterward ensure that they communicate wellness materials to the workers at their
specific site. This approach ensures that everyone is tuned well to the purpose of the program.
Project Structure
As the project manager, I will consider utilizing the project-based organizational structure
in managing the project. It is of great significance to remember that this structure is more based
on projects and not functions. It is this structure that will ensure that most of the resources are
utilized in project work. Again, the structure will grant me a high level of independence as well
as power for the project, and control over the project resources (Martinsuo, et al., 2006). It is an
excellent structure primarily because it has a clear, established line of authority, something that
always leads to enhanced decision-making as well as approval. At this point, there will be
improved communication, and because it is one project being handled, it will be easier to deal

with the challenge experienced with this structure where team members see themselves under a
lot of pressure most of the time, especially when multiple projects are involved.
Customers and Stakeholders for the Project
It becomes of great significance to note that as the project’s primary customer, the
sponsor to the project will be the sole financier as well as a beneficiary of the project if it occurs
that the venture emerges successful. However, it is worth noting that the project aims to ensure
that the life of employees at the workplace improves. As far as the project proposal is concerned,
the project manager will highly be entrusted with the task of planning as well as executing
strategies that will align with the wishes of all the other shareholders. Some of the other
stakeholders include investors and also healthcare organizations that have contracted with the
business. In every undertaking, it will be significant to ensure that everything remains
confidential as leaking the project’s technical innovation may draw or in other words, attract
stealers of the idea or people who may try to oppose the whole program. The success of the

The Summary of The Project
Organizing a family reunion may require attention and take as much efforts to plan as
planning other social activities such as a wedding (Eskerod & Jepsen, 2016). Bringing members
of the family together in a manner that is both fun and convenient for the planner is possible. The
project involves planning a family reunion for one-hundred and fifty family members. The
planner, however, should know when to begin, where to book for accommodation and what to
plan in ensuring the success of the family reunion plan. It involves selecting a central place to
hold the family reunion meeting (Kerzner, 2017). The planners should choose a central location
depending on the distance between the members of the family where all them can easily access
with minimal costs and stress. The planners should decide on the focus. The family reunion shall
be all about family. However, the family members may choose it indoors, outdoors enjoying
common activities, or a town with access to cultures and museums. It is essential to prepare a
general budget before determination of lodging and destination options. It involves determining
whether there will be standard transport, or each member of the family has the responsibility for
their own transportations and accommodation. The planners also need to know whether the costs
shall be shared among the family members (Lock, 2017). At this stage, a casual poll among
members of the family can be valuable.
The planners will then decide on the type of lodging. In this scenario, Melissa will offer
hotel and transport services (Meredith, Mantel Jr, & Shafer, 2017). The theme and costs of a
family reunion shall differ based on the lodging type selected. The project leader should know
whether the family members spread out in individual rooms, units or stay all together under one
roof. They should consider the activities and meals to be included in the family reunion. As

project members plan for the family reunion, they should think of a large group. The team
mandated with the responsibility of preparing the family reunion should ask resort or hotel
booking negotiators for their group rates or deals for booking multiple rooms. They should put
into consideration the accommodation alternatives are likely to be available, to ensure that all

media account for family-related matters to accomplish a successful reunion. Members of the
family shall have to be briefed on the importance of supporting this project. Apart from the
financial benefits, the project will help in reuniting family members who have had disagreements
in the past. Many customers are looking for online data that I believe will help the business and
also reach ore consumers. Having a website is a significant way of promoting the family
counseling project. The site will be designed for online information seeking (Lock, 2017). It will
not only provide information on services and products but will also give the customers the
chance to get free counseling concerning family matters. As a way of reuniting members, the
selected project hopes to understand values that define the brand and working towards
establishing creative communication for the counseling project. Enhancing sales is the ideal way
of improving the success of a business; hence, a website for sales is very significant. Establishing
an online presence via a website enables the firm to reach out to more customers (Eskerod

automatically bring paying clients to one’s business.

To ensure that anyone that needs a roommate has been assigned to another family member (if
they want to share the room).

Get the bus services that will be transporting family members to the various activities while
at the site.

Ensure that a list of everyone is provided to the project manager and to the hotel of those
attending the family reunion before October 30 th .
Three Key Milestones and Deliverables for the Project
Determination Timeline of Family Reunion
It is time to begin booking once the project team has decided where to meet, what kind of
accommodation would be best, as well as the kind of activities members of the family would like
to involve in during the meeting.
Two months: depending on the destination popularity, the team should book lodging (Kerzner,
2017). Many accommodation alternatives have limited spaces for a large number of people that
make prior booking essential. The team should carefully monitor policies of cancellations they

meals, or menus.
Two weeks out: the team should mail or email reservation numbers, driving directions, or any
other comprehensive information the family members shall require as they arrive.
Event day: Welcome the guest and enjoy the family reunion.
Activities of Planning Food and Dining
The next step in organizing a family reunion once the team has established where to meet and
where to stay is to plan events of planning food and dining (Eskerod & Jepsen, 2016). The
family members should be kept in the loop with following hacks for organizing them to ensure
they do not become bored or scatter to the wind:
Create meal lists and share different duties and roles: the load should be shared if the lodging
options leave the cleaning and cooking the family members. That is, after all, what family is all

about (Kerzner, 2017). The team should decide in advance whether the food and cooking
materials shall be purchased separately or together.
Creation of a schedule of activities: not each member of the family has the same interests, and
therefore the organizers should at least plan a task per day which all people can enjoy doing

be as simple family walks to as elaborate as scavenger hunts or sessions of family photography,
depending on interests, ages, and mobility. There should be an extra daily task alternative that
