Title Page
This is the information you developed in Week 1.
Document History
This section should identify all document changes.

Table of Contents
It should be autogenerated from the shell and, in the final version, regenerated from the body of the project.
The table of contents should be between 2–4 levels deep.
It should contain a list of figures and a list of charts if there are any in your project.
Introduction: This is the introduction to your project, which should contain the following:
Purpose: Purpose of the document, which clearly identifies the purpose of your SEMP
Document Overview: A descriptive overview of the document, which identifies how the document is laid out
System Overview: A brief overview of the systems engineering project and how this document fits into the project
The overview must provide enough information so that the reader has a high-level understanding of the project.

Project Schedule: A high-level notional project schedule that identifies the key milestones associated with the engineering project and the target start and finish dates
The key milestones will show the schedule of yearly builds and the project phases associated with each build

Organization: Describe the project’s organization and team locations.
Environments: Describe the technical environment for the project and how it will be managed. Include the tools and the descriptions of handoffs between the tools for each subteam. (For example, describe the handoff from requirements engineering to design.)
Decision-Making Process: Describe the decision-making process(es) used in the project. This should include trade studies, control boards, working groups, and other forums.

Abstract
This paper is about Systems Engineering need of “Universal Games”, this fictional toy
company is based in Cleveland, Ohio. This retail brick and mortar store provides high quality &
high demand toys and games for all ages, the owner of this store is trying to modernizer the IT
systems used in daily operations of these stores, for inventory management and POS. Universal
Games alongside their physical store sell their merchandise on their website as well as third party
websites also like Amazon. The owner wants the fulfillment of orders from all possible channels,
like Instagram marketing, through promo codes / referral codes and all these sales should reflect
in integrated databases and in complete engineering Infrastructure so that purchasing manager
has clear information about inventory, demands/performance of toys and re-order points.

Universal Games – Executive Summary
Universal Games is located in Cleveland, Ohio and source most of its inventory from
China and Taiwan, Universal games has positioned itself as one stop shop for board games,
video games which appeal to all age groups, Universal Games competes in an industry where big
retailers like ToysRus have gone bankrupt and few competitors are able to survive on their own.
The owner wants to capitalize on cutting edge IT technology to reach out to its base and stay
competitive in the industry. Universal Games currently deals with the problems such as
excessive ordering of goods, warehouse inefficiency, wrong promo codes and discount coupons
applied to customer resulting in reduced bottom-line.
The owner believes that if they capitalize on enhanced database solutions and better POS
software, store’s sales will revive and customer satisfaction will be achieved. The owner is
concerned about migration of data into new system, performance of IT team itself. The new
Datamart should be able to integrate data from various different business streams across different
nations for both sourcing and sales. Accuracy of cashflow data is dependent on quality of data
obtained from different sources and how DataMart is able to process it. These new systems
should help employees to track orders in live mode and track sales/inventory in fastest way
possible, lean management of supply Chain would be dependent on successful implementation of
databases systems.
Universal Games want to sell with third party sellers like Amazon, alongside their own
website as well, currently the marketing of Universal Games is weak, they need to up their
games with Instagram marketing, PPC marketing, and social media space, they need to perform
better analytics to formulate those kind of marketing with user data they gather, in the present

scenario the user data stored is limited, Universal Games need to store more date in order to
fabricate marketing in line with the wants and needs of consumer. Universal Games is planning
on hiring Facebook data engine for such needs.
Business Implementation – Key Assumptions for data base for System Engineering
1) Between Supplier and Suppler order entities the relation is many to many, A supplier can
have multiple order, and order can be from various suppliers.
2) Supplier and Product Details will have one have one to many, since same product will not
be sourced from multiple Suppliers.
3) Supplier Order and Order Detail, is one to one relation, since one order can one specific
detail
4) Order Detail to Product details will be one many, an order can have several different
products listed.
5) Customer order and Product Details can be many to many relations, since a customer can
place various orders, and various products can be a in a single order
6) Customer to customer will be one to many, since a customer can place multiple orders,
but a order represents one customer only.
The above database ER diagram, will help Universal Games to keep track to inventory, sales
records so that owner can make informed decision about the business strategies, this is in
alignment with business mission and goals of Universal Games
