This assignment has three goals:

to create a well-developed, useful, and informative handout
to inform your team members about your research, findings, and focus-specific facility location recommendation
to get feedback from your team members that will help you revise, improve, and develop your Expert Report

The objectives of this assignment include: organization; creating appealing visuals; oral communication; teaching; revision

For this assignment, you will create a handout that communicates the most important ideas from your Expert Report. You will use this handout to aid you in a 4-5 minute, informal presentation to your group where you will discuss your research, important findings, and area-specific recommendation.

An informative and visually appealing handout can help audience members understand and retain important information. Because you are the team expert in your area of research, you are responsible for teaching your team members about your area of expertise beyond what they read in the “Globalization” text (the little book).

look to the Example handout in the attachment to help you in formatting my handout.

Requirements That should be on the handout:

The handout must be polished, typo-free, and use logical and consistent formatting.
The handout must be well organized.
Use clear and appropriate headings
Use a logical sequence of information that makes sense with and without your presentation and guidance
Use formatting that makes the handout easy to read
Team members must be able to understand and use the content of your handout without needing to ask you for clarification
Aim for the handout to be highly informative, but not crowded or difficult to read
The handout must be 1-2 pages, front and back (“1-2 pages, front and back” means a single sheet of paper, but you may use the front and back of the sheet of paper – if your handout is more than 2 pages, or more than 1 piece of paper, then you are not meeting this requirement)
The handout must include at least one chart, graph, or figure that helps to illustrate a complex idea or issue, or that helps readers visually situate information that may otherwise be difficult to understand. See the UNC Handout “Figures and Charts” (Links to an external site.) to help you complete this requirement.
The handout must offer information beyond what your team members already read in the Globalization book (the little book).
Your references must be cited in a “Works Cited” section, and it should be in APA format. Al-Kendi
Expert Report
I. Introduction.
A. Denmark ranks third-best energy-efficient economy in the world while the US
ranks the third-worst energy-efficient economy in the world.
B. Thesis. Although the Danish environment and energy regulatory policies are
more stringent in terms of requirements and inspections, they are more effective
in encouraging investment in the green energy sector because the policies
encourage the growth of a green economy and reduced emissions as compared
to the US.
C. The following is an elaborate comparison of the different environmental and
energy policies in Denmark and the US that seeks to discover which location is
suitable for setting up a wind turbine company.
D. The first step in making this comparison is identifying the different authorities
tasked with protecting the environment and their responsibilities.
II. Body.
A. First Main Point: The Danish EPA is the main environmental agency
enforcing environmental policies.
1. The Danish EPA enforces policies enacted by the Danish parliament.
a) Ever since 1973, the Danish parliament has been enacting and reviewing
energy and environmental laws.
2. The Danish parliament enacts laws the promote innovation, expansion,
and sustainability of the Danish economy (“Danish regulations”, 2019).
a) Implementation of the policies by the EPA has resulted in the increased
energy efficiency of the Danish economy.
b) Emissions were down 45% between 1990 and 2015 (“The Danish Energy
Model: Innovative, Efficient, and Sustainable”, 2017).
c) New opportunities in the sustainable energy sector have emerged.
3. The Danish EPA is essentially centralized; however, mandatory
inspections are carried out by EPA representatives working under
decentralized municipal level jurisdiction.
a) To maintain the implementation of new laws, mandatory inspections are
common occurrences in Denmark.
b) They are carried out by representatives of the EPA allowed to focus on a
c) They prepare annual reports regarding compliance and effectiveness of the
policies enforced.
B. Second Main Point: The USA’s EPA is also the main environment policy
1. Environmental policies may be enforced on a state, local or federal level.
a) Local or state departments of environment handle most cases unless the
EPA is inclined to directly get involved (Cohen, 2018).
2. Policies do not promote innovation or sustainability. They follow the
notions of the second amendment and seek to prevent harm to people and
all forms of life (Dragoo, 2019).
a) There is no research as in Denmark, frequent inspections or incorporation
of sustainable energy, the only protection from harm.
3. The economy has remained largely fossil-fueled, with potentially harmful
use and extraction of non-renewable sources of energy.
a) America remains the largest oil consumer in the world.
C. Third Main Point: The business impacts of the two policies.
1. Denmark is accessing and expanding its green energy sector.
2. America remains one of the largest consumers and extractors of fossil
fuels in the world as well as one of the highest emitters in the world(“U.S.
energy facts explained – consumption and production – U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA)”, 2019).
3. The country’s economy is heavily dependent on oil
4. Denmark has better incentives to set up green energy businesses than
III. Conclusion.
A. Summary. Denmark’s energy policies are enacted by the country’s EPA. It
encourages innovation, growth, and sustainability of the Danish economy.
America enforces its policies via the EPA but is directed at only protecting
people from harm.
B. Clincher. As such, Denmark is a better prospect of setting up a wind turbine
company as compared to the US.

Communication is the meaningful exchange
of information.
Literacy has historically meant to the ability to
communicate through reading and writing.
However, a great deal of communication
happens without words, using images, gestures,
eye contact, posture — even our choice of
clothing or hairstyle.
• Message
• Sender
• Medium
• Interference
• Receiver
• Feedback
We often communicate in several ways at once!
Media Literacy
If students aren’t taught the
language of sound and images,
shouldn’t they be considered
as illiterate as if they
left college without being
able to read and write?
In order to be fully literate you must know the language
of digital media. You must be able to access, understand,
analyze, and produce sound, images, and video.
George Lucas
In this course you will learn to use media language to
describe and critique several kinds of messages, as well as
develop projects using Audacity, Photoshop, and Premiere.

By the end of this course, you will be able to demonstrate your media literacy:
• Language – use media language to explain your needs to an expert
• Critique – describe what’s done well in a sample and how it might be improved
Skill – operate media recorders, edit, and share work
