Conduct Disorder
Topic Proposal
Recent decades have seen the recognition of mental health of children as a priority,
with conduct disorder emerging as a critical health problem among children aged between
five and sixteen years. Children who exhibit antisocial behavior might be a small
representation of children global, but they comprise the most challenging individuals to
handle during consultations (Roberts & Durham, 2013). Children with conduct disorders
have behaviors that depicts that is characterized by impulsivity and the continued
disregarding of social norms of conformity as well as defying the accepted behaviors. The
growth in the number of children depicting conduct disorders shows the need to understand
the causative mechanisms, particularly regarding the trajectories of the brain and the effects
that the environmental stimuli has on the child with its promotion or hindering of healthy
neuro-development (Roberts & Durham, 2013). Conduct disorders, therefore, becomes
relevant for the people to understand the causes of the condition to aid the development of the
best preventive measures to ensure that children are free from the condition
During development, children are at an increased rate of entering the dissociated state
where they cannot respond to normal cues of their daily lives because of their development
association with earlier memories that lead to their behaviors. Families can understand the
condition to find a way of building the emotional wellbeing of their children as well as their
social and family relationships. The understanding of the condition presently helps in
diagnosing and treating it, whereas in the future is prevention through the establishment of
measures and environment that aids the best development of the child (Norberg, 2010). The
historical perspective of the condition is essential because of its demonstration of theoretical
explanations that help to explain the cause of conduct disorders as well as treatment and

interventions. By examining the various treatment and interventions that are available,
parents can better understand their child’s behavior from conduct disorder.
