Harassment in the workplace
Scenario: I recently watched a video on harassment in the workplace and the story is one
that I am sure many have been through. The story is one in which a male co worker is trying to
pursue a female co worker and has asked her out, she turns him down but it doesn’t stop there.
He is constantly trying to find a way to get her attention such as going to lunch when she does,
talking to others about her and also staring at her while she works. This of course can all make
someone feel very uncomfortable so she turns to her manager. She decides to finally speak up
because he emailed her a long love letter and she now has additional proof of the unwelcomed
gestures he has made. This should not have gone on for as long as it did, as soon as someone
says no it needs to stop. The manager then steps in and contacts the HR department for further
assistance.
