The traditional philosophies of ethics still abide when tackling diverse modern moral
issues. The appreciation of different viewpoints has, however, enabled individuals to
appreciate the different dispositions, communities, work and, biological inclinations. This
appreciation of individuality has led to changes in legislations to better appreciate the freedom
of choice granted to individuals irrespective of their gender. This paper will seek to discuss
the issue of abortion and the arguments surrounding it. Therefore, the topic is “Abortion and
its incipient Solutions.”

and political spheres in a much broader and inclusive manner in order to achieve a greater
coalition between both genders. I believe this helps to advance the concept of freedom of
choice propagated by the pro-abortion activists.

In this book Ruth Abbey, discusses the concept of liberalism, and how if the concepts
are properly applied, they can be used to alleviate the challenges facing women. The
challenges faced by women are in this book attributed to the lack of choice and fair play on
both economic political and social spheres of life. The book further sheds light on issues
surrounding the emerging trends affecting the concept of feminism and political theory. The
writer, therefore, gives reasonable proposals on the manner and means in which resources
more specifically political resources can be applied to grant women a voice in the social
spheres.

In this book, G A Waylen, closely examines the confines and likelihoods for a
comparative politics of gender. Waylen proposes that in order to achieve gender equality there
should be some form of political change. The book is relevant as it provides solutions on how
we can achieve positive outcomes from gender transitions. The book provides practical guides
and scenarios which if properly applied and implemented could prove to be quite fruitful in
this quest of gender parity and hence, how to tackle emerging issues such as abortion.

The article mainly focusses on the issues facing women with disabilities but sheds
light on how the added dimension of gender, makes disabled women’s sexuality even more
uncertain. The article, therefore, provides a glimpse on how the other social spheres of a
woman’s life are affected by this uncertainty and generally how women’s freedom of choice
is hindered. This read is of use because it shows that the lack of freedom of choice bestowed
upon women even on matters directly affecting them, cuts across various jurisdictions.
Dworkin, R.(2011). Life’s dominion: an argument about abortion, euthanasia, and
individual freedom. Vintage.
In this paper, Dworkin discusses the various convictions and ideologies that lead
individuals to differ in opinions. The difference in opinions on how individuals approach
abortion, euthanasia, and freedom of choice are according to the author, due to other
gravitational factors that shape our beliefs. This article is of use as it sheds light on the other
external factors that can cause individuals when faced with similar situations to have
diverging views and as such offer totally different perspectives on a common matter. The
explanation will, therefore, seek to explain why there are many contrary views when it comes
to advancing the arguments for and against abortion.

Introduction with Thesis Statement
The giant ethical leaps have made it mandatory to embrace all humankind and the vast
ideological beliefs and cultures. Important ethical issues can no longer be ignored and have
persisted and elicited various debates and responses worldwide (Addlakha, R. & Nayar, M.
Disability and Sexuality ,2017).
Pertinent issues such as whether abortion should be allowed and if allowed what limits
should be placed on the act still lingers, with law makers in the state of Georgia in an even
more recent attempt, pushing for a far more restrictive abortion law.
In the recent past, various Bills and amendments have been tabled to the floor of
parliament with key issues of ethics, the rightness and wrongness of the act, still hovering
over the background and managing to stick out eventually like a sore thumb.

The principle of freedom and equality is fostered by numerous authors and in respect to
this subject, women have rightly propagated that they have the right to determine how they handle
their own bodies (Dworkin, R. Life’s dominion: an argument about abortion, euthanasia, and
individual freedom. Vintage, 2011). In this respect, greater attention is given to the woman who in
all common parlance is a human being with equally similar rights to education and employment
which may be curtailed if denied the opportunity to determine what happens to them when they
conceive.
On the other hand, the concept of abortion to some extent offends the principles of
feminism which speaks against violence and discrimination. Moreover, the right to abortion seems
to extend the sexual freedom relished by men to the disadvantage of women; since, men will be
freed from the responsibility of bringing up children (Dworkin, R. Life’s dominion: an argument

Ancient history perceived infants as human beings, whether they were killed in their
mother’s womb or after their births (I. l, Charles. 2019). The contraction of an abortion was in all
aspects deemed a crime. With recent developments however, there seems to be a lack of a
unified view on the matter. The motives for criminalizing abortion have as such become more of
an ethical question rather than the standard practice. The protection of women and even girls
from accessing second-rate medical services in a bid to enforce their exclusive right to abortion
has become a key area of concern in most jurisdictions including America making everyone a
party to the debate concerning abortion.

a just and efficient manner. The solution requires avoiding hard-line stances when approaching
the matter as parties from both ends of the spectrum will have to compromise.
