State your position on the topic you selected for Assignment 1.1.
Identify (3) three premises (reasons) from the Procon.org website that support your position and explain why you selected these specific reasons.
Explain your answers to the “believing” questions about the three (3) premises opposing your position from the Procon.org website.
Examine at least two (2) types of biases that you likely experienced as you evaluated the premises for and against your position.
Discuss the effects of your own enculturation or group identification that may have influenced your biases.
Discuss whether or not your thinking about the topic has changed after playing the “Believing Game,” even if your position on the issue has stayed the same.

The topic chosen is Should Tablets Replace Textbooks in K-12 Schools?, I support
tablets replacing textbooks. Tablets are much better than printed manuals and graded test results.
A user can store hundreds of manuals, save the ecosystem by reducing printing papers, improve
creativity and interactivity. Moreover, digital textbooks are cheap compared to printed textbooks.
The three premises under the Con section that oppose my position are the following:
Handheld technological devices including tablets and smartphones are associated
with a broad range of health problems. Using tablets can be more expensive than
using print textbooks. Tablets can have too many distractions for classroom use. The

be true because tablets connect to the internet through WiFi. A mobile connection
emits EMF radiation similar to the WiFi connection in a laptop and cellular
transmissions on a mobile phone. Such indicates that the radiation hits a user from the

education. This idea might be true based on the fact that digital technologies such as the tablets
have been determined to beget a negative influence on a students capacity to focus on lessons.
They can justify almost irresistible both for the user and to those nearby.
In summary, students are digital natives. They grew up with technology; it is intertwined
in their lives. However, the use of technology in the classroom is not just on digital devices
within the classroom; it is about everything facilitating intercommunication between the student
and the teacher. Classroom participation is at a low and high level all the time in competition
with countless roads towards tablets. Technology can be perceived as the culprit or used to
enhance efficiency and engagement.
