Each student will be responsible for one paper on a legal or ethical
issue of interest to the student. (Note: The topic of Physician
Assisted Suicide is NOT acceptable at this time. This topic has
proven to have relatively limited data…only legal in a few states,
limited number of cases for support). The proposal for this paper
and a three (3) article annotated bibliography, due at the end of
week 5 (due date is 03/03), will be a very short document
(approximately two pages) outlining the planned trajectory of your
research. The proposal must include: (1) your anticipated research
questions, (2) the major subtopics you plan to cover, and (3) an
annotated bibliography summarizing the key elements of the
sources used. Be particularly careful in using and properly citing
web-based resources. The library has excellent handouts and
online resources on proper format for web citations using APA 6th
edition, as does the ‘Purdue Owl’ website. Be sure to check the
accuracy of the website before using the material, and stick to
facts instead of opinion-based works. No late submissions
accepted.
