A critic of The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Reality show
A reality show is a film that depicts how one lives his or her normal life, and we
expect that such shows present the actual happening on the ground. This point is clearly
illustrated from the word ‘reality,’ but I’m sorry to say that most of the reality shows we
currently have being broadcasted in our television sets are nothing less than sources of fame
to the individuals being filmed and sources of entertainment. A good example of such a show
is ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ which I have taken much time betting on its level of

reality. I’m always wondering if the kind of lifestyle being aired on this show would be the
same lifestyle the actors would live off cameras. I’m sure an ordinary human being would
change his or her personality depending on the environment he or she is exposed to.
As I watch the episodes of this show one after the other, what I see are induced
feelings and emotions and imaginary decisions as well as actions. The cries, laughter, fights,
and reconciliation to me are always not genuine at all. This reality show has, therefore,
become more of a movie or a soap opera full of actions that would not happen in a typical life
scenario. Celebrities are known for their unique works such as leadership and artistry and
looking at the history of these participants; I can’t identify anything special that should grant
them such level of fame. This kind of celebrity status might have hence come about from the
fabricated lifestyle poised by the Kardashians in this film. For some people, such kind of
orchestrated behavior would create a scenario similar to that of a dramatized piece and thus
treat it just like any other form of entertainment.
