Very easy Gender and Race Essay with format and requirements

I’m stuck on a Psychology question and need an explanation.

PROMPT: Speech, Power and Protest. Is there a “crisis of free speech” in society, including on college campuses? How might issues like race, gender, social class and the criminal justice system shape who has more access to the First Amendment? Whose voices tend to be heard while others are silenced? What is the argument of P.E. Moskowitz? Please provide your own response to the articles by P.E. Moskowitz, and advocate for whatever you believe ought to be done.

The first one or two paragraphs should be an Introduction or a “hook” that summarizes what your essay is arguing, and why people should care (why is this topic important?) Before getting to a Conclusion, I recommend you have two or three subsections that address different themes.

CITATIONS: You need to cite the SEVEN readings attached in your essay. I will provide the readings. The first time you cite a reading, bold the reference (such as Contreras 2013.) You only need to do this once so that I can get a quick scan of how many references you used.

The more often you cite the reading material, in an effective and substantive way, the better the paper will be. The essay needs to make an argument that is supported systematically by evidence and citations from the readings.

When you quote from the readings, you must cite the authors and the page number, if there is one. Use a consistent citation format. Such as “The majority of humanity now lives in cities (Davis 2006: 8)”. Avoid long quotes, as to save space for your own writing. Bibliography is not required. Avoid using the first-person.

Length: 5 full pages

Since this is a short paper with advanced notice, I am looking for tight, well-crafted, thoughtful essays. The more original the argument(s), the better.

Format: 12 point font, double spaced. No title page. Just take 3 single space lines to write your heading at the top— no more. If you try to mess with the spacing in obvious ways, I will notice. Have a unique title.

Don’t have big long paragraphs. A well-organized essay clearly switches to a new paragraph once it introduces a new idea.
