CONSTRUCTIVE COMPLAINTS

Think of a conflict of your own. Now proceed with your assignment on writing up your constructive complaint from the same conflict. Write your complaint in the first person, as if you were speaking to your conflict partner. An example of a constructive complaint to this is also attached here. (“Constructive Complaint: Vet Example”)

Use the format from the Wilmot & Hocker (main) text to write up your constructive complaint: 4 Steps:

• Use an “I” Statement

• Describe and undesirable behavior

• Use neutral, not judgmental, language

• Ask for a specific, behavioral change.

You can also take a look at the example of a constructive complaint listed in Chapter 1 of the Wilmot & Hocker text (main text) to get an idea of what your constructive complaint should look like. (file attached)
