Can you help me understand this Law question?

1.A criminogenic issue I am interested in researching is youth sexual offenders. What type of treatment is effective for treating youth sexual offenders? What are the reasons that cause a young person to commit a sexual offense? What are the underling reasons? Are most youth sex offenders victims of sexual abuse? How many will reoffend? The research design I would use would be Experimental Design and longitudinal design. Placing a group with treatment and another group with no treatment and then years later follow up with the same group to see how many of those in the treatment group reoffended and how many in the non-treatment group reoffended and how many in either groups did not reoffend.

Some advantages of classical experimental design in criminal justice are control of the variables, used to determine what is best for the population, and can be combined with other research methods.

Some disadvantages include the difference of a controlled setting v natural settings sample may not representative, or can be subject to human error.

2.Personality traits has been something that I am very interested in researching, it is because I found it very unique. All humans are created to be different compare to each other, even though they could have similar personality, there are still differences between people. During the research for personality traits, the most appropriate type of research will be applied research. It is because personality traits is something that is very unique and we need to be persist on the research. Applied research is the type of research that we use when we are looking for a specific answer, which is necessary when we need to look into this person and find out every traits out of him or her. The advantages is we are able to control over the variables because human perform the experiment and it allow us to use different methods and look for the specific answer if we have a specific goal. However, there are limitation such as personal bias might apply in the research which affect the results and there could be human error in the research as well.
