I’m studying for my Psychology class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?
You are to locate one job that is of interest to you, and conduct an interview/job analysis with someone who is employed in that position/vocation. Though you are encouraged to construct your own questions (and some may crop up spontaneously as you progress through the interview) here are a few that can serve as a template:
(1)Please provide a general description of your job (their elevator speech!). What were the requirements for your position (i.e., educational, prior experience, etc.).
(2) Specify the various tasks that you perform on a daily (or otherwise) basis, broken down (but not limited to) as follows:
(a) cognitive tasks
(b) clerical tasks
(c) physical tasks
(d) social/personnel/management tasks
Not only should you specify the tasks that fall under the above rubrics, but also what % of the average day is dedicated to such.
(3) How are you measured on the above tasks? What type of feedback are you given (e.g., performance appraisal) as to how well you are meeting the job objectives? Are there clear, measurable outcomes associated with your position? Is the feedback helpful?
Once you have completed your interview and had time to write up your synopsis, now offer suggestions (in your paper!) as to how you might modify the measurement of performance. What would you do differently? Would you use any other types of measures?
Please write up the interview in a narrative format, and offer your conclusions and any personal insights you gleaned from this paper.
I added a sample essay paper. Please use 12 pt font times new roman double spaced.
