Unit 3: Homework

The Diathesis-Stress Model is an important model to consider in evaluating the etiology (causes) for some of the disorders we study in abnormal psychology. It is important to have an understanding of this model for how the diathesis and stress work together in the manifestation of symptoms. A depth of understanding for the Diathesis-Stress Model is important to establish when analyzing the 3 articles in the assignment in order see if this Model applies to each article.

Directions

1. After reading ALL THREE ARTICLES listed below the chapters for this unit, the Lectures and related websites and exploring the information on the textbook website discuss the questions below.
2. Assignment needs to make specific references to the information from EACH ONE OF the articles. When making references to sources, remember to give credit where credit is due.
3. Each area listed below needs to be numbered and answered separately.
4. The APA format needs to be used–title page, abstract, page numbers, DS, citations and reference page.
5. 300 words minimum.

1. Write a detailed description for what you understand the Diathesis-Stress Model to be. Make sure your description is thorough because it will determine how the information from the 3 articles is applied.
