PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE SUMMARIZING AND ANALYZING THE ARTICLE ARGUMENT(S).
THERE MUST BE NO PLAGIARISM AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
EVERY SINGLE WORD MUST BE YOUR OWN. PLEASE CHECK FOR GRAMMAR BEFORE TURNING IT TO ME. I SUGGEST READING THE PAPER 4 TIMES BEFORE FINAL SUBMISSION. USE GRAMMARLY ( IF YOU HAVE IT) TO HELP YOU OUT.
You are to summarize, and interpret the significance of, an argument or result of a study presented in an academic or scholarly publication (ie. academic book, peer-reviewed journal article, or think-tank report).
To do so, you will first need to identify an appropriate study that fits the above criteria, familiarize yourself with the findings or argument, and ultimately summarize that argument in a way that is understandable and compelling for a college-educated reader interested in the subject (but not necessarily for a political science major). Note that this only requires you to read and report on a single study, but most studies will also provide a brief literature review that presents where the research fits within the existing literature and why it is important
The goal (Student Learning Objective) is fourfold: 1) Identify and locate appropriate scholarly or academic sources. 2) Demonstrate comprehension of high quality and sophisticated research. 3) Demonstrate an understanding of the implications of academic research for contemporary issues or concerns in political science or public policy. 4) Communicate your knowledge in a high quality, yet accessible manner.
I uploaded the rubric below. Please take a look at the rubric before writing, during writing, and after writing. PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS ALONG WITH THE RUBRIC. THE RUBRIC IS CALLED SUMMARY ASSIGNMENT
