It seems COVID19 dominates everything these days including congress. The main item discussed over the last year have had to do with what type of stimulus to pass. Congress has been trying to negotiate with the senate so that when congress passes a bill it will not be dead on arrival in the senate. The republicans in the senate do not have much motivation to pass a stimulus. Their main motivation is to sustain business but do not want to give money to average citizens. Stimulus and enhanced unemployment have been see by republicans as a hurdle to getting the economy back to normal because they believe it incentivizes work. Without workers they feel the economy will continue to stall.
