Answer journals questions

I’m working on a Geography question and need guidance to help me study.

There are “Journal” responses sprinkled. Thus, you will be required to respond to EACH of these responses with at least three to four well-written sentences, which demonstrate that you have thought deeply about it.

Journal: Commitment to Human Rights (Review the expansion of and the commitment to the human rights agenda)

Consider human rights issues in other countries. Identify the human rights violator that you consider the worst, and describe why.

Journal: Human Rights Milestones (human rights: the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which stressed negative rights and was favored by the United States, and the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR))

When you read Chapter 3 and the different theoretical approaches to human rights, which one meant the most to you? Describe why, and talk about any experiences that you had that relate to your thinking.

Journal: Philosophical Controversies About Human Rights (Evaluate some of the philosophical controversies over human rights)

Reflect on your own beliefs on rights and your own culture. What is the biggest difference that you see between your cultural values and those of one other culture that you have studied, or seen first-hand? What might be the reasons for that difference?

Journal: Global Institutions Protecting Human Rights (Recognize global, regional, national, and local institutions and rules designed to protect human rights across the globe)

Describe experiences have you had with institutions that protect your rights. At the same time, if you don’t see your rights being protected, does that mean that those who are supposed to protect them are doing an especially good job? Why or why not?

Journal: Enforcing Human Rights (Report the efforts made globally in bringing violators of human rights to justice)

Think about any time that you or someone close to you had their rights violated; were there any consequences for this violation? If so, then describe what happened, and if not, then why not.

Journal: Women and Human Rights (Relate the need for stricter laws to protect women’s human rights across the globe.)

Think about the experiences of the women and girls you know, or yourself, if you are female. Has there ever been a time when you or they felt that someone violated their rights in a way impossible for a male to experience? Describe that experience and your, or your acquaintance’s, reaction to the situation.

Journal: Disabilities and Human Rights ( Recognize the need to protect the human rights of the disabled)

Describe some of the ways in which you have seen schools, businesses, and other public accommodations help make access easier for people with disabilities. At the same time, have there been instances where you have seen people not make accommodations for disabled people? How did, or would, that lack of accommodation effect someone with disabilities?

Journal: Islam and Human Rights ( Distinguish between the Western and the Islamic beliefs on individual and community rights)

What are your experiences with the way that Islam, and especially its views of the rights of non-Muslims, have been portrayed in both mass media and social media? Reflect on whether it has been fair, accurate, and complete.

Journal: Terrorism and Human Rights ( Review the balancing act that needs to be played while fighting terrorism and protecting human rights)

Think about a trip through an airport, bus station, or train station that you or someone you know has made. Consider whether or not any security measures you or they witnessed made you or them safer, or just feel that way.

Journal: The Death Penalty (Report the controversy around issuing death penalty as punishment)

Consider the worst crime that you know of in your own country. Analyze whether the death penalty is appropriate for the guilty party.
