Help me study for my Film class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.
This paper has 3 parts. AROUND 6000 WORDS When relating to any example/shot in the film TIME STAMP
PART 1: A research portion on noir film, from before it’s origins (German Expressionism, dramas of early Hollywood, etc) to the present (Involves Neo-Noir)- its history and relevance. MUST HAVE 5 SOURCES. AROUND 2000 Words
PART 2: Analysis on the the Noir Film: Maltese Falcon
Must include: the theme, the characters, the story, etc
Must include: 3 types of shots that stood out. ALSO 3 shots involving lighting AND 3 shots involving sound. Describe why you think the director made these decisions. After analyzing these shots add a couple of sentences to decide whether or not they fit the feel of Noir based on the research done. USE TIME STAMPS.
Last element: Does the film truly fit Noir? Why? Cite 5 examples using TIME STAMPS. Can give 3 examples that support Noir, 2 that do not. MAKE A CONCLUSION. IS the film Noir or not?
