I’m trying to study for my Philosophy course and I need some help to understand this question.
Week #15 Discussion Topic
Instructions:
Here is this Week’s Discussion Topic:
An unchurched person approaches you, questioning the factuality of the bible and the differences of opinion that exists between what they believe and what the bible teaches. The person does not understand why someone needs to be baptized in order to be saved or why a personal relationship with God is not sufficient enough to get to heaven.
Using the material we learned this semester; how would you teach them the Catholic position on reading and understanding the bible? Take into consideration the ability to tell a story, the role of community in the life of the faith, the difference between the manner in which the characters of the Old Testament (and the New for that matter) lived the life of faith in relation to the Son of God.
VIP: KINDLY NOTE THAT I am Muslim and I just taking this course because it’s required to complete my degree plan at my school, so please take that in consideration when you write the response.
