1-The 1980s were a time of social and economic turmoil in the United States. In Reagan’s Second American Revolution speech he highlighted many of the gains of his administration in terms of the economy and moral legislation. How did his speech conform to the evangelical revival movement as seen in the work of Jerry Falwell? How did Reagan’s statements about the economy contrast to the reality of economic conditions in the United States as shown in the Lumpkin article?

2-The readings for this week all discuss the globalization which occurred throughout the 1990s in terms of international economic relations and representation of the United States changing demographics. Summarize what each document says about the effects of globalization, its positives and negatives, and how old prejudices are still alive.
