I need support with this Social Science question so I can learn better.

So, this stuff with the Coronavirus has, for lack of a better term… … … ESCALATED. I think it is safe to say that none of us have lived through anything like this. From my vantage point, I am mostly seeing two types of reactions; mass hysteria with people stockpiling sanitizer and toilet paper or people not taking it seriously at all and going about there normal business. One would think that there would be a happy medium between mass hysteria and not taking it seriously at all, right? For students who are taking on grounds classes, chances are they were converted to online classes, fortunately for us, we do not have to worry about that because we are already an online class.

Even our U.S. president, who started out not taking this seriously, changed his tune mighty fast once it spread to multiple states. I think the first major dominoes were actors Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson testing positive for it in Australia, and then stateside, NBA Player Rudy Gobert tested positive for it as well and was the catalyst for the NBA suspending its season, along with the NHL, MLB, XFL, and NCAA suspending there seasons. In defense of Gobert, I am pretty sure all of these season suspensions would have happened , anyway but he did himself no favors when he was on television openly mocking the coronavirus (CODVI-19). Anyway, please take a look at the links and answer the following questions:

• What is the difference between a PANDEMIC vs. an EPIDEMIC (I know the answer but I think it’s better if you look this up yourselves)
• How is your job (if you have one) handling CODVI-19?
• How seriously are you taking everything surrounding CODVI-19?
• Is the news coverage of the coronavirus causing the mass hysteria or is the hysteria just a natural reaction to the virus?
• Are you having to be extra careful around people vulnerable to the disease? For example, my girlfriend’s mother has COPD and she lives across the hall from us. My girlfriend caught a cold so she must keep her distance until that cold goes away.
• How well do you think the Trump administration is handling this Pandemic? You are not obligated to give your opinions on Trump himself unless you want to.
• What do you think of Rudy Gobert mocking the coronavirus and then being diagnosed with it?
