Just one page on idiocracy

I’m studying for my Social Science class and need an explanation.

As you’re trying to determine what a “Societal Analysis” is and how you’d write one through the lens of a novel, take a look at the video below. In “Idiocracy: Is It Deep or Dumb” the author compares a film to three current societal situations:

1. “Anti/Pseudo Intellectualism”
2. “Too Many Babies”
3. “Corporate Culture and Spectacle”

As he discusses these situations, he analyzes both the film and Society. This is what you’ll be doing as you synthesize information about one of the underlying themes you and your group identified in your Book Report about “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”.

For this discussion board, watch the Societal Analysis below. Then:

1. By Wednesday, write a brief summary of each of the author’s discussion points
2. identify areas that you believe are opinion and areas you believe are fact
3. discuss how the film synthesizes information
4. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by furthering their discussions on the notion synthesis (for more on synthesis check out this source). (Links to an external site.)
