Answer the questions on page 71 from the “Checklist: Questions for Critical Reading” in complete sentences about the essay you choose for your literature journal.

Step 3 Post your response to the discussion board.

1. In paragraph form, write your response with the answers from the checklist on page 71 about the essay you choose.

2. Write a probing question for you classmates to respond to that you may have about your essay.

3. Use direct quotes from the essay to support your ideas.

4. Use correct MLA style.

Step 4 Read and respond to other students’ posts.

Read other students’ posts and respond to at least two of them. In addition to any other comments you may have, respond to the following:

• Respond to the points they made from their journal entry
• Help your classmate come up with a thesis from the question they asked
• Respond to the question they had about the essay

Use your personal experience, if it’s relevant, to support or debate other students’ posts. If differences of opinion occur, debate the issues professionally and provide examples to support opinions.

Please respond to at least two (2) classmates to meet minimum requirements.
