Tuesdays with Morrie (pp. 41-79) Discussion Questions

1. In an experiment with the class, Morrie sits in silence for at least 15 minutes (53). What do you think you would have done in that situation? Does silence bother you? Why/why not?

2. After one of the students successfully did the “trust fall” exercise, Morrie says, “Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel” (61). What does this mean?

3. In “The Professor,” we learn about Morrie’s childhood. Given his childhood, can we say that Morrie fulfilled the American Dream?  Why or why not?
