“Public Order Crimes and Practical Reflection”

Use what you learned this week to respond to the following items:

1. Define public order crimes and summarize why they exist./Use
2. We are constantly examining crimes and trying to determine of they should be legalized or decriminalized. Pick one of the following public order crimes and defend if the crime should remain illegal or if we should legalize/decriminalize it: Prostitution, Sale/Use of Narcotics, Gambling.
3. When we look at cyber crimes, much evidence can be found on mobile devices that suspects carry. As we saw with a shooting that occurred in San Bernardino, the FBI was unable to access the mobile device of the offender due to the passcode. Do you think that cell phone companies should have to provide a “back door” to law enforcement so that they can access mobile devices with probable cause? Why or why not? Be sure to back up your answers.
