Help me study for my Art & Design class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.
At the beginning of the semester, I asked you to write down your idea of East and West, and your perception of the “other.” I also asked you to think about the idea of “culture” and “art” and what defines them.
We covered different types of material, media, ideas, locations, populations, religions etc. How did your ideas or perception change (if they changed)? what did you learn? what did surprise you? How can you recontextualize art in the broader global world today tracing back to the past and what you learned?
