ABCD: Group immersion assignment (Complete AB) in week 4 and (CD) in week 5.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to examine the development, implementation and evaluation of a health care policy at a local, state, regional, and national level. The student will use leadership approaches and evidence-based practice perspectives to analyze the problem(s) the policy addresses. The ABCD framework will be utilized to complete the assignment. Please see the below description for each component of the framework.

Topic: As a group, based on the experience of the collective team members, identify 1) a current healthcare policy of interest and 2) one to two problem(s)/topic(s) that the policy addresses. Some examples could include the recent change in state immunization policy, State Law and Vaccine Requirements (Links to an external site.), or you may also browse the following websites for more information on current healthcare policies that may be useful for this assignment World Health Organization (Links to an external site.) .

Appraise: Search the literature for evidence surrounding the policy and the problem(s)/topic(s) that the policy addresses. Each group member should choose two different articles (one to address the policy and one to address the topic) and present the findings of that article. A copy of the two or three articles for the annotated bibliography should also be placed in Discussion 4 for the appraisal and bounce-off.

Bounce off: In your assigned groups, collaborate with your peers to discuss findings from the literature. Organize the findings in a narrative report.

Nursing potential impact on the policy
Share your perspectives on the policy after doing this learning activity
